About us

We believe that people in recovery from mental health issues are like broken crayons that still colour

SOAR is a non-profit organisation that stands with individuals who are overcoming their struggles with mental health issues.

We're building a Recovery College in Singapore, an internationally recognised model that emphasises learning, empowerment, and co-production in mental health recovery.

Vision
A Singapore where mental health recovery is learned

We envision a Singapore where communities learn together to support recovery with dignity, agency and hope.

Mission
Asset 43_4x.png
Creating learning spaces where lived and professional wisdom meet

We bring together people with lived experience and professionals to co-create learning that builds understanding, agency, skills, and contribution.

Methodology
We build our courses differently through co-production

Most mental health programmes are designed by professionals, for participants. SOAR does something else. We call it co-production, and it's the heart of everything we do.

Every course SOAR creates is built in collaboration between mental health professionals, people in recovery from mental health conditions, and their family members.

Our team
The humans behind SOAR

We are mental health practitioners, people with our own lived experience of mental illness, family members of people in recovery, and passionate advocates for a kinder, more understanding Singapore.
